Our efforts and willingness to connect and collaborate as a community have resulted in another milestone to celebrate. On July 1, 2020, the Batesville School District will officially adopt a Community School strategy—becoming the first in Arkansas to hire a community school coordinator to manage this initiative.

Every Community School is as unique as the students, families, and area it serves. Batesville’s model is no different and focuses on eight key areas:

  • Engaging instruction
  • Expanded learning opportunities
  • College, career, and citizenship readiness
  • Health and social support
  • Early childhood development
  • Community engagement
  • Family engagement
  • Youth Development

One extraordinary accomplishment of the Batesville model is how educators and employers have partnered to provide high school seniors paid work-based learning experiences.
